Are you a young storyteller ready to make a real impact?
Green Governance Africa (GGA), in partnership with Accountability Lab Zimbabwe, Magamba Network, and Bokola Film Festival, is seeking passionate youths who are journalists, photographers, and multimedia creators to produce impactful stories on mining-induced human rights violations across Zimbabwe.
This is a unique 3-week assignment to create compelling, evidence-based content that shines a light on communities affected by mining. Your work will not only build your portfolio but will also be prominently showcased at the 2026 Bokola and Shoko Festivals.

Assignment Breakdown
This project is titled Silent Cries, Loud Echoes - Zimbabwe. It is designed to bridge the gap between grassroots realities and national awareness.
Supported Assignment
Green Governance Africa will fully support selected journalists and content creators to work on a dedicated 3-week assignment.
Amplifying Voices
The primary goal is to create compelling, evidence-based content that amplifies the voices of women, children, and Environmental Human Rights Defenders (EHRDs) heavily impacted by mining activities.
As a selected creator, you will be deployed to the front lines of environmental justice.
Field Research
Travel to affected mining communities to conduct on-the-ground field research and direct interviews with locals and EHRDs.
Expected Deliverables
You can choose your medium. Deliverables may include Investigative articles or features, Opinion pieces (Op-Eds), Blogs or photo stories, or Short documentaries and multimedia content.
Ethical Standards
All outputs must strictly adhere to ethical, human-rights-focused storytelling, ensuring dignity and respect for the subjects involved.
GGA is looking for a diverse range of young, talented media practitioners.
Target Profiles
Journalists, writers, photographers, filmmakers, and digital storytellers who are passionate about social justice.
Preferred Experience
While strong storytelling skills are a must, prior experience in human rights, environmental reporting, or investigative journalism is considered a massive plus.
