Zimbabwe Traffic Fines: The Driver's Plain-Language Guide to Roadblock Penalties

Navigating roadblocks in Zimbabwe doesn't have to be a stressful experience if your vehicle is in order and you know the law. Based on the official National Schedule of Deposit Fines, we have translated the heavy legal jargon into a simple, everyday guide grouped by how you actually drive.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: A deposit fine is exactly that—a deposit. Always ask for the Z69J receipt. If you dispute the charge, you have the right to elect to go to court instead of paying on the spot.
How Fines Work: Regulations & Currency Traffic fines are officially pegged in US Dollars (USD) but are fully payable in Zimbabwean local currency at the prevailing interbank exchange rate on the day of payment.
